Looking for a fright? Visit your local haunted theater Oct. 28

PORT ORCHARD — While downtown streets will be littered with an assortment of ghosts, goblins, witches and superheroes carrying bags suitable for holding a big haul of treats, a scary, even unsettling place has issued an open invitation for visitors: the “Haunted Theater.”

The Dragonfly Cinema — renamed the Haunted Theater on Saturday, Oct. 28 — will host for the second consecutive year its “creepy, scary and amazing” experience for trick-or-treaters looking for a good fright.

The theme this year is “Twisted Fairytales.” Attendees can visit the haunted theater between 7:30-10 p.m. The cost is $7 per ticket, or $5 with a canned food item, to be donated to the South Kitsap Helpline Food Bank.

The ghouls operating the haunted theater suggest it is suitable for children ages 10 and above, although kids of any age will be admitted with parental supervision.

Horrified organizers say there’s still a need for volunteers to help bring the haunted theater to life. “If creepy is your thing,” the head ghoul says, “contact us at camp.amanda.e@gmail.com.”

The cinema is at 822 Bay St. in Port Orchard. The phone number is 360-519-4333.
