Dragonfly Cinema is bringing the ground-breaking film “Loving Vincent” to the big screen this weekend.

“Loving Vincent” tells the story of the last days of Vincent van Gogh by bringing his world to vibrant life. This is the world’s first fully painted feature film. Every frame of the movie was hand-painted on canvas in van Gogh’s revolutionary style by more than 100 artists.

The tale begins with a young man setting off to deliver the last letter Vincent van Gogh wrote before his death, but his journey soon takes on the feeling of a murder-mystery as we learn about the legendary artist through vignettes told by those closest to him.

The artistry is often breathtaking, and the filmmaker’s ability to convey movement and emotions via oil paintings is brilliant.

This is a truly one-of-a-kind spectacle of a film that will wow art lovers with its incorporation of van Gogh’s most famous works and captivate those new to the life and works of this famously misunderstood genius.
