The worst bill for women in a generation

The bill to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act was the worst bill for women in a generation.

In addition to defunding Planned Parenthood and slashing Medicaid, it would have gutted essential health benefit protections, including maternity coverage and prescription drugs. Thirteen million women would have lost coverage to maternity care under this bill — and more than a million patients would have instantly lost access to care at Planned Parenthood health centers if this bill would have become law.

To deny millions of patients access to cancer screeenings, birth control, HIV testing, etc. is unconstitutional and inhumane. It is important that women have reproductive rights for whatever they choose to do with their own bodies. Those who oppose need to mind their own business.
