The dark was transformed high and low by bright colors

On the December evening when the switch for the light display at the Kingston Port was turned on, I heard exclamations of amazement from volunteers who had worked through three seasons this year, last year and previous years wrapping LED cords in the fanciful shapes of life in the sea and on the shore.

While they worked indoors, they saw their creations take form, one by one. On this evening, they had stood around the performance stage in anticipation, as actors await the director’s signal for the play to begin on opening night.

When the dark was transformed high and low by bright colors, the volunteers told one another that Ray Carpenter and his crew had succeeded again in erecting everywhere in the park the displays that had existed only as drawings months earlier.

Through this letter, the volunteers extend their thanks again to the Kingston Port work team.
