Keep Erickson working for us as Poulsbo mayor

I’m voting to re-elect Becky Erickson for mayor of Poulsbo, and I hope others do too.

Here are some observations as to why Becky should continue as mayor:

As part of being mayor, Becky has served on many local and regional boards, including Housing Kitsap and Kitsap Transit. As county treasurer, I’ve observed Becky at some of these meetings. She is always prepared, strategically focused, financially astute, and respectfully makes her points.

As a Poulsbo Rotary board member, I’ve seen Becky partner with Poulsbo Rotary on many projects: Fish Park, Morrow Manor and the adjacent park, and Nelson Park to name a few. I’ve directly worked with Becky to help Rotary bring Coffee Oasis into Poulsbo, and we’re working to update the Nelson Park caretaker’s house so that Coffee Oasis can become the house manager and expand their transition services. This effective partnering has leveraged city budgets in service to our residents, including those in need.

The Forest Rock Homeowners Association, on which I’m a board member, invites Becky to our annual meeting. Again, she arrives properly prepared and is responsive to our members’ questions and concerns. Becky attends other HOA meetings too.

These are just a few examples of Becky’s efforts as mayor. I especially appreciate her open office hours on Saturday, because that provides such great access to residents. Becky works hard and strategically for our city and we’re much better off because of it. We need to keep Becky working for us.
